The Fiserv Small Business Index for Q2 2026 was 144, a one point gain from Q1.

 

Highlights:

  • Small business sales improved through Q2, but growth remained heavily dependent on higher average tickets.
  • Consumer activity stabilized late in the quarter, but foot traffic remained below last year.
  • Restaurants remained a persistent weak spot, especially limited-service dining.
  • Q2 ended with early signs of rebalancing as retail and goods spending improved in June.
