Banking and Fintech for Diverse Suppliers is a virtual program specifically designed for diverse suppliers to increase their knowledge of banking and fintech.

 

About the program

Banking and Fintech for Diverse Suppliers is a world-class program that will inspire participant learning through interactive sessions with distinguished Georgia State University faculty and industry subject matter experts from Fiserv, Synchrony and Georgia Fintech Academy. 

What to expect

Suppliers will participate in a 6-week virtual classroom, learning from renowned college faculty and fintech subject matter experts from Fiserv and Synchrony.

How to apply

Interested diverse-led businesses are encouraged to review the selection criteria and submit an application. Company applications will be accepted May 8–June 9, 2023. Selection of accepted companies will be determined exclusively by Fiserv
and Synchrony.

What to expect

 

Georgia State University, Fiserv and Synchrony are inviting diverse-led business enterprises to apply to be a part of Banking and Fintech for Diverse Suppliers, open to companies that are 51%+ owned, controlled or managed by a designated diverse segment: racial or ethnic minority, woman, LGBTQ+, disabled or veteran.

Representative(s) of selected companies will learn through virtual classroom sessions with subject matter experts and senior executives from Georgia State University Robinson College of Business, Georgia Fintech Academy, Fiserv and Synchrony. The pilot program will launch June 26, 2023.

The 6-week pilot program will:

  • Introduce participants to banking and fintech concepts within the context of real-world application, trends and future outlooks
  • Provide a single company-level diverse supplier re/certification with a third-party certification organization
  • Provide one registration to a single company attendee to a national supplier diversity conference
  • Offer a supplier onboarding review through Global Strategic Sourcing/Procurement organization

Note: Participation requires video/conference call capabilities through the NovoEd platform provided by Georgia State University. Technology is not provided by Fiserv or Synchrony.

Course Format

 

  • Virtual sessions will be held on Mondays beginning on June 26–August 7, noon–1:30 p.m. ET
  • Each session will begin with participation from a Fiserv/Synchrony Senior Leader/SME, followed by course content delivery from Georgia State University Robinson College of Business and the Georgia Fintech Academy
  • Additional activities will be assigned weekly to reinforce learning, stimulate discussion and serve as a foundation for follow-on sessions
