Challenge 1:
AI for Smarter Fintech
How can Artificial Intelligence help fintech startups work smarter and serve customers better?
Build a working prototype of a fintech tool that uses AI to solve real-world problems for startups - such as improving customer service, detecting fraud, automating financial tasks or personalizing user experiences.
Challenge 1:
Requirements
- A functional demo of the AI-powered tool (e.g., chatbot, fraud detection simulation, smart budgeting assistant).
- Build using platforms like Python, Scratch, MIT App Inventor, or web-based tools.
- Must include at least two fintech job titles that would be involved in creating, managing or using this invention (e.g., Machine Learning Engineer, Product Manager, Fintech UX designer).
Challenge 2:
Cybersecurity Awareness
How can we make people more aware of cybersecurity, protect their money and become more skilled in cybersecurity?
Create a working app-game that teaches users how to stay safe online and protect their financial information. Topics may include phishing, password safety, secure transactions and identity protection.
Challenge 2:
Requirements
- Interactive and educational app.
- Includes at least 3 key cybersecurity lessons or scenarios.
- Built using tools like Scratch, Unity, App Lab or MIT App Inventor.
- Must include at least two fintech job titled relevant to the creation or use of the app (e.g., Cybersecurity Analyst Game Developer, Digital Risk Consultant).
Challenge 3:
Secure Messaging App
Design and build a secure messaging app to protect your information
Develop a secure messaging app prototype that could be used for financial communication. The app should prioritize privacy, encryption and use control.

Open-Ended Innovation
Create your own fintech innovation! Solve a problem, improve a process or introduce a new way to manage money, communicate or stay secure.
Design and build a prototype of a fintech solution that addresses any other challenge. This could be related to payments, investing, budgeting, lending, financial literacy or any other area of fintech.
Challenge 4:
Requirements
- A working prototype that demonstrates the core functionality of your invention.
- Built using any platform or tools appropriate to your idea.
- Include at least two fintech job titles that would be involved in developing or supporting this invention (e.g., Blockchain Developer, Financial Data Analyst).
