Welcome to Fiserv Future Techies

The Future Techies program introduces students in grades 5 - 8 to the exciting world of financial technology through an engaging and immersive STEAM-based experience. Over the course of 8 to 12 weeks, students are equipped with the tools and technology they need to understand the curriculum while learning from Fiserv technologists about cutting-edge topics such as payments, artificial intelligence, app development, machine learning, data visualization, and cybersecurity.

FFT Process

Students work in teams to tackle real-world problems, such as budgeting, cyberattacks, and currency exchange, and get an opportunity to apply their new knowledge to develop their very own tech-driven solutions. At the end of the program, each team presents its final project to a panel of Fiserv leaders. The top projects from each region then go head-to-head in a virtual national competition and present their innovations to Fiserv executives alongside members of their communities.

Over the past two years, the Future Techies program enrolled more than 500 students in grades 5 -8, offering them hands-on experience in emerging technologies. This was supported by over 250 dedicated Fiserv volunteers, who served as mentors, educators, and judges throughout each of the cohorts. Future Techies have Developed over 100+ student-led fintech innovations!

FFT National Pitch Competition

In 2025, the program added a new element to provide participants with additional presentation and group work experience – the inaugural National Pitch Competition. Top teams from each region presented their solutions to real-world problems. One standout project, developed by Team Simply Secure, introduced a Raspberry Pi-powered two-factor authentication system capable of storing thumbprint scans and performing RFID verification. Their prototype tackled the growing need for secure digital access, receiving praise from Fiserv executives and tech mentors alike.

Prizes included a $2000 school grant and iPads for each team member sponsored by the Fiserv Tech Team.
