Customer Loyalty

Rewarding customers is nothing new, but we’ve breathed new life into customer loyalty programs — starting with an emphasis on the customer.

Throughout the retail landscape, customer reward programs have become ubiquitous and sometimes uninspired. We set out to change that in financial services and created a card loyalty program that’s flexible and customer-centered. (This approach might sound like a no-brainer, but it was such a novel idea that we won industry awards for our UChoose Rewards® solution.)

How does it work? Look at Rami and Danielle as an example.

Through their bank’s UChoose Rewards program, the couple earns points not only when they use their debit and credit cards, but also when they pay bills online, open new accounts, initiate loans and take advantage of other financial services. This allows them to rack up points quickly and see results – i.e., gratification – faster than other programs they’ve participated in. But what’s even more cool is that they can combine points from all their cards and accounts into one pool, so big-ticket items like a flat screen television or a luxury getaway are in closer reach. They can select from (or debate over) millions of reward options: Brand name products. Gift cards. Travel excursions. Event tickets. Access to unique activities. Or just good old cash back. (Hence the name “UChoose Rewards.”)

Redeeming their points is fun and easy. Rami and Danielle can use their iPhone® to redeem and then, instead of waiting for their items to be shipped, they can pick them up at a participating retailer — usually within 20 to 45 minutes — with no waiting in line thanks to reserved parking spaces and dedicated check-out lines. Their bank loves the program because its flexible design allows them to create merchant-funded, issuer funded or blended rewards. They can even implement community-focused programs: for instance, offering rewards for supporting locally owned businesses or events. This creates not just customer loyalty but community loyalty.
